Description of counting and packing machine

As the name “Counting & Packing” suggests, this machine has two main functions for counting and packing of mainly bulk materials. Therefore, we will first look at the counting part of the machine and then see the (bag) packaging. For the sake of simplicity, we will refer to the machine as a CP-M or CP-machine within this document.

1.1 Visual counting 

Visual counting machines are advanced technological systems designed to automatically count objects or items using visual data, typically captured through cameras. These machines leverage computer vision, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning algorithms to analyze images or video feeds and accurately count targets in real-time.

1.1.1 Key Features of visual counting:

1. Computer Vision Technology:

• Utilizes image processing and pattern recognition to identify and count objects or individuals within a frame.
• Can distinguish between different types of objects based on shape, size, colour, or movement.

1. Real-Time Counting:

• Provides instant counting results, making it ideal for applications like part monitoring, counting, and/or good bad monitoring.

1. High Accuracy:

• Employs AI and deep learning models to improve counting precision, even in complex or crowded environments.

1. Scalability:

• Can be deployed in various settings, from small-scale items to large areas for bigger parts.

1. Integration Capabilities:

• Often integrates with other systems, such as inventory management software or contains analytics function as good/bad recognition.

1. Customization:

• Can be tailored to specific needs, such as counting specific types of objects.
• Automated packing 
• Bag packaging machines, especially those designed for plastic foil/film bags are automated systems used to efficiently pack products into plastic foil or film bags. These machines are widely used in industries such as food packaging, pharmaceuticals, and all types of industrial products, as they can handle a wide variety of products, including powders, granules, liquids, and solid items that are handled in bulk. The plastic film is usually inserted into the machine as a roll, which is then formed, filled and sealed.
  

  1.1.1 Key components of bag packing machines using plastic foil/film:

  1. Unwinding System and foil/film roll carrier:
  • Holds and feeds the roll of plastic foil/film into the machine.
  • Ensures smooth and consistent material flow.
  1. Forming Tube:
  • Shapes the plastic foil/film into a hose by folding and sealing the edges to an open bag.
  1. Filling System:
  • Accurately dispenses the product into the formed bag, which already served by the counting machine.
  1. Sealing Mechanism:
  • Again using heat to seal the bag after filling.
  • Ensures airtight and tamper-proof packaging.
  1. Cutting System:
  • Separates individual bags from the continuous plastic foil/film.
  • Can include perforation or straight cutting, depending on the requirements.
  1. Control Panel:
  • Allows operators to adjust settings such as bag size, filling weight, and sealing temperature.

   

  1.1.2 Types of bag packing machines:

  1. Vertical Form-Fill-Seal (VFFS) Machines:
  • The plastic foil/film is fed vertically, formed into a bag, filled with the product, and then sealed.
  • Ideal for bulk products, granular, powdered, or liquid.
  1. Horizontal Form-Fill-Seal (HFFS) Machines:
  • The plastic foil/film is fed horizontally, and the bag is formed, filled, and sealed in a horizontal orientation.
  • Suitable for solid or irregularly shaped products.
  1. Premade Bag Packing Machines:
  • Uses pre-manufactured plastic bags, which are opened, filled, and sealed.
  • Often used for more specialized products.
